Supervisor Education

Gute Unternehmensführung ist der Schlüssel zum Erfolg

Supervisor Education

Supervisor education is for people who have completed training in MI and have been using MI in practice for more than 18 months and have participated in supervision themselves. Supervisors should have a defined set of cognitive and socioemotional competencies. In the supervision education, future supervisors receive targeted feedback in each training unit based on the ABAEUS competency profile for MI supervisors. The education is divided into three units.

Unit 1: Using own resources
The training begins with a self-awareness block in which candidates work through their own difficult cases and biographical aspects. The candidates should be able to name their own biographical parts that have caused them difficulties so far in the application of MI and in other professional contexts. Further, they should train to use these biographical parts constructively and confidently as supervisors.

Unit 2: Supervision a deux
This unit deals with the communication of the supervisor in individual supervision. For this purpose, the prospective supervisors are first trained to conduct individual supervision conversations. Afterwards, the prospective supervisors will work on supervision cases independently in the leader training.

Unit 3: Supervision in the group
Candidates learn to supervise groups by discussing critical cases with participants and working through them using role-play and other methods. To do this, candidates learn how to use group facilitation in supervision and then how to apply the consultation methods in case work.

First, the knowledge and basic skills of group facilitation are trained and then those of process-oriented group facilitation. Process group facilitation trains the competencies that supervisors need for multiple supervisor appointments.

Candidates then train in the various forms of role play and other methods for working through cases. First, the different types of role play are trained. These are then applied appropriately in the leader training. In the leader training, the candidates alternately take the lead in processing cases in their own supervision group. In the final leader training, the future supervisors train the combined application of moderation, role play, case discussion and the methods of MI in the role of supervisor.

The supervisor education concludes with the ABAEUS certificate as supervisor for MI. If desired, the education can be extended to an extended supervisor education. The supervisor education is also a basis for our coaching education. The units completed in the education can be credited towards the training sections in the coaching education.

In addition, we offer companies the opportunity to round off the education with an assessment center. We would be happy to explain this to you in a personal conversation.
